DM2100-Ethernet Demarcation Device

DM2100 Metro Ethernet SwitchDM2100-EDD (Ethernet Demarcation Device) is a product that provides intelligent services of LAN/WAN demarcation in the last mile of Metro Ethernet access networks. This allows monitoring and controlling the service from one point of the network to the other.

EDD performs wire speed switching of level 2 packets, and it may operate both with point-to-point topologies (with 1+1 type protection) and on loop by using Ethernet protection protocols such as xSTP or EAPS.

Along with DM3000 and DM4000 family switches, it is possible to determine a new optical network topology for access up to the last mile.

This architecture may be defined as ETTX (Ethernet To The Premises). This way it is possible to provide TDM legacy services by using circuit emulation with Pseudowires, apart from native Ethernet services with advanced network demarcation devices.

DM2100 is a compact standalone unit assembled on a plastic table cabinet or metallic wall cabinet with AC/DC full-range power supply in all models. Above the different ports available in each model.

  • AC/DC full-range power supply
  • 6 electric ports 10/100/1000 Base-T
  • 2 optical WAN ports 100Base-FX or 100/1000Base-X
  • SFP WAN ports
  • 2 up 8 E1 ports (RJ45), 75 or 120 ohms
  • SNMP management
  • E1 module supporting TDM circuit emulation over Ethernet
